The performing of songs linked to industry has a long tradition and no more so than in the Black Country. Songs about nail making, chain making and life on the canals etc. form the backbone of local Folk Music history.
To reflect some of the industries of the area and the links to people in the cemetery we have included two traditional folk songs here both set to traditional tunes:
- The Nailmaker's Strike with lyrics sung by George Dunn of Quarry Bank and
- The Nailmaker's Lament with the lyrics set to a ballad tune commonly used in the 19th century.
Music is performed by Andy Casserley of Kidderminster
Music recorded and edited by Paul Baker of Kingswinford
